Celebrating Black Culture at Mello Fest this Juneteenth
Talib Kweli, Georgia Me, Betrand Boyd, Black Ice and More to Perform
Dania Beach, FL (April 1st, 2022) ┈ Juneteenth, a day that symbolizes so much to so many people of color. For more than 150 years, African American communities across the country have observed this special day. Now a federal holiday; discover the history of events that celebrates the end of slavery at Mello Fest. The music festival culminates a newfound freedom of expression, music and spoken word featuring hip hop star Talib Kweli on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at Stage 954, 301 E Dania Beach Blvd, Dania Beach, FL 33004 at 7pm.
“Mello Fest, is a poetry and music festival with many incredible poetry, spoken word and live musical performances and showcases by some amazing artists. The first festival of its kind in South Florida; Poetry and spoken word is a dying art form that needs to be continuously showcased, elevated and celebrated,” says Jones Pierre, Event Producer.
From the producers of Miami’s hottest spoken word dinner party Mello Mondays; Mello Fest will feature poetry by: Def Poet Black Ice, KLove, Just Mike, Tony Award winner Georgia Me, Bertrand Boyd, Mori Taiye, Sa-Ra as well as spoken word performance by rapper Talib Kweli and much more.
Hosted by the talented Will Serius, Quick the Poet and the phenomenal Ingrid B, there will be a live band performance by J Howard with curated tunes by DJ Heron.
